I HEART You

The kids were pretty upset this night because they were expecting to go to a birthday party but the party got cancelled.  When I say upset I mean REALLY upset to where they can not think or do for the rest of the night.  Sound silly but for a kid birthday parties are no joke.

So to take away the sadness and to take the focus away from their disappointment I brought the idea to them of heart attacks. It is not what you think.  Not the deathly heart attacks but the type that brings joy to people.

We chose three homes including the birthday child's and wrote happy messages.  We then proceeded to secretly put them on peoples houses.  The kids are still trying to grasp the idea of secret and quiet but they will learn.  They have asked me if we can do more heart attacks ever since.

Kid Involvement

The past two Saturdays have been spent with the kiddos and their friends.  We were going to help clean a church but since they were done we ventured to the animal shelter.  They are always looking for help if anything to help play with the animals and walk them.  We have been able to walk away these past two saturdays with no animals which for me that is progress. Hahaha  It is hard to walk away from such beautiful animals.  Yesterday there were many MANY volunteers so we didn't need to do much but we were still able to be there and give the animals some attention.

How do you make others smile?

  • Joseph I put my hands on the corners of their mouth and pull the corners up. Most people don't seem to enjoy it very much, though.

  • Melissa My kids giggle and laugh when I fart in front of them.

  • Catherine By smiling at them first. Saying I love you. Serving them.
